His subject for the show will be Frank Tovey, i.e. 𝗙𝗮𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁. Fad Gadget was the first artist signed to Mute Records and has been cited as a major influence for artists like Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy and Liars.
For the past few months LJ has been collecting and poring over all of his albums as Fad Gadget, Mkultra, under his own name, and as Frank Tovey & the Pyros. He has listened to a myriad amount of covers of his songs and to his side projects and soundscape work. And, he isdistilling this all down to a two hour show to give a survey of the career and recorded output of Frank Tovey!
If you’re not familiar with Frank Tovey, but like early Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Soft Cell, The Human League, Depeche Mode or Heaven 17, this show might be of interest to you!

LJ will be continuing last’s night tribute to Scott Walker with a look at his works from 1975 to 1999! This will include a look at the three Walker Brothers reunion albums released from 1975 to 1978 and Scott Walker’s two solo albums that were released in 1984 and 1995. Where last night’s show honed in on Walker super fans Jarvis Cocker and Divine Comedy, this show will prominently feature super fan David Bowie, who had A LOT to say about Scott Walker.
