Hallo Leute and welcome to our Deutscher Jam. This show should serve as a connecting ground to showcase and play current and classic German Artists here in Richmond. We are going to be pulling away from the stereotypes and stigmas one may think when picturing modern day Germany through sound and music. The shows mission is to pull individuals away from viewing Germans as the stereotypical picture of solely drinking beer, eating sausage, wearing lederhosen, and the population only consisting of one race. It’s time to give German a facelift and showcase its talent and culture through a youthful lens.

Feminine Energy
Ladies! Where is the representation? Why is it that there are so man y dope female artists but not enough airplay? Why is it that on some Stations they only require a minimum of two female artists played? Lastly why on one of the largest independent Radios in Berlin RBB the Radio hosts only get the opportunity to showcase there favorites for 20% of the time? Point is we want answers and something needs to change! That’s why I am here as the first woman of color to have established a modern German Radio Show here in America. We all know Def Jam correct? Record labels used to be the gatekeepers of great music. Then that stopped and the flood gates opened to anyone courageous enough to show cases there talent. Deutscher Jam is the gatekeeper of German music. Only the best of the best get airplay on this show. We see a lack of many minority groups in the spotlight but the biggest are women. “They” meaning the male dominated industry says the want less, but I say we want more. Women speak that truth! The LGBTQAI+ community speaks that truth! Deutscher Jam is opening the door tonight and is goi9ng to great you with nothing but feminine energy tonight. In pursuits to give women and the LGBTQIA+ community the recognition the deserve Deutscher Jam is the vehicle to amplifies these voices. The hoe_mies in Berlin addressed it first and I am right in line with them

Black Magic: Germany Redesigned
Deutscher JAM is a German Radio Show based in Richmond, Virginia. As a woman of color living in-between the German and English speaking worlds, the lack of proper representation became extremely apparent. Thus by amplifying the voices of German artists, we are able to honor and showcase Germany’s diversity in a proper manner.

Das Connection:An International Monday
Seit ihr bereit? Are you ready? Let’s hop on the Deutsche Bahn and go on an adventure. Join us as we Tour de France with a number of different Artists. We’ll slow down for a moment and enjoy the scenery of the countryside. Once we’re finished reset at a Café in Paris. Should we switch the scenery? Rome? What a trip, let’s jump back on course and tackle the DACH(Germany along with the German speaking worlds). Get ready for a complete full body immersion.
It’s the passion for me. Maybe it’s the Soul. The twinkle in the eye you notice as they speak their truth. The connection. Anyhow, tonight’s show will showcase drei sprachen(three languages). French, Italian, ending with a final dose of Deutsch. Das Connection serves as a connecting ground for all human beings awake to our unique magic. Join us as we explore the unknown. Deutscher Jam is here to showcase every person and brand that will further bridge you into another dimension of yourself. Whether it’s by offering language courses, content, resources, events, or music we got you!
Shoutout of the day: Nowisa
The founder Raida states,
“Education should be based on your willingness, not your income. Depending on where you are born, you don’t have access to the same things, especially when it comes to free education and strong currency. In order to decrease inequalities, Nowisa wants to provide education to the majority and the best courses for beginner, intermediate and advanced. No administrative papers, no expensive flights, no university fees, no visas. Just you, like-minded people and native speakers, taking back the right to learn and exchange knowledge and culture.”
It doesn’t end there, the name Nowisa is a funny take on needing “No Visa”. He spoke on his beliefs that no visa is needed to meet people from around the world and acquire a new language. Functioning as a connection between worlds it was a no brainer to include him on an episode of “Das Connection”. From the countryside of France, he functions as one of the connections that’ll allow you to explore another world through the art of language.

Richmond has established a redesigned version of a modern day German Stammtisch. This language learning group shall function as a Hub for individuals to meet, speak and learn German. Ein Ort where you can form the connections you’ve been longing for. We’ve kept it classic in support of one of the only authentic German restaurants in Richmond. Café Rustika. Not only do they offer German Bier, Gurkensalat, Spätzle, Frikadellen, und Schnitzel. But they also offer a space for total immersion. This in-person experience should teleport you into another dimension. To be specific into another dimension of yourself. I am a firm believer that languages are portals linked to self-discovery. Each language can be seen as a line of communication from the soul into the physical realm. Join us in this experience, you won’t regret it 😉

It all comes down to imagination……
This show would be nothing without it. We will be focusing on the voices on today’s generation by letting them guide us through the experience. It is my honor to showcase
these Artists through there music. Remember the only thing that separates us from understanding one another is language. Simply translated perspective. We hope to shift that tonight by showcasing Germany in a different angle. We are going to be diving head first with Deichkind, reminding us to say Bon Voyage to what is known in order to discover unknown.
