A lot of cool shows happening in the next two weeks here in Richmond and the surrounding areas! She Wants Revenge and The Chameleons are playing Thursday up in D.C. at the Black Cat; on Saturday up in D.C., AL1CE is playing at The Runaway; then on Monday and Tuesday at the 9:30 Club in D.C., AFI and Drab Majesty are playing back to back sold out shows; also on Tuesday the 8th in D.C., The Legendary Pink Dots are playing at the Pie Shop; November 12th here in Richmond catch the return of Synthetic Nightmare at Fallout, or The Soft Moon and Model/Actriz at The Broadberry; and then finally on the 13th you can make your way to Norfolk to see Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin at the Norva! Athan Maroulis will be calling in for a live phone interview on tonight’s show! His band, NOIR, will be playing here in Richmond this coming Saturday at Fallout with Ships In The Night and Stephanie! Athan is a legendary singer who has been performing with some of the most recognized bands in the scene since the ’80s…Spahn Ranch, Fahrenheit 451, black tape for a blue girl (just to name a few)! And his current project, NOIR, has carried on that legacy for almost 10 years now! He’s also been a major player behind the scenes helping some of the biggest names in the scene today get their start early on!

Dog Germs / PND (punk’s not dead) presents:

Dave Heckman, founder of Metropolis Records, recently passed away. For those of you that don’t know, Metropolis was founded in 1993 by Dave in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and grew to be the largest independent label here in America for industrial, goth, electro, darkwave, and other adjacent genres. Music released by Metropolis has been a big part of Dog Germs since I first started this show 17 years ago and we get to honor Dave tonight with a bunch of new Metropolis releases from A Projection, Kill Shelter, Then Comes Silence, The Birthday Massacre, The Chameleons (UK), :Wumpscut:, Delerium, Paradox Obscur, iVardensphere, and Lords Of Acid.
We will start tonight’s show off with music from bands playing here in Richmond (Holy Fuck with Penelope Isles on Thursday at The Camel) and Washington, D.C. (Blondie with The Damned at The Anthem on August 21st).
