Lots of shows happening in the next two weeks! Tomorrow night here in Richmond at Fallout catch Stoneburner, Hunting Dog, and Pain Generator; on Saturday at Fallout catch Parricide Sentence, Malice Machine, Fleshing Machine, and The Treasury; then on March 31st at Fallout you can witness Combichrist play an old school electronic set with Die Sektor and Esoterik opening up; on April 2nd at Fallout you can see Nuxx Vomica, Clock Serum, and The Treasury play a show; or on the same day, drive up to D.C. to see Health, Author & Punisher, and Thotcrime play at Union Stage! Well it’s finally happening after being announced prior to Covid and after a couple of reschedules, but the Clan Of Xymox and Bellwether Syndicate show is finally upon us as of this coming Sunday, March 12, here in Richmond at the Richmond Music Hall! Tonight on The Unquiet Grave (9-11pm right here on WRIR) we’re exploring the sub-sub-SUBgenre of Industrial Crust, starting with some scene-setting via early crust’s flirtations with sampling and electronic influences, John Peel and the labels Earache and Peaceville exposing crust, industrial, and metal bands to the world and each other; moving on to East Anglia and the whole Deviated Instinct family; taking in a portion of one of the most underrated concept albums of all time; closing out with a couple of bands that somehow aren’t even from England. This might be kind of old news by now, but I just learned a couple of days after my last Dog Germs show that Patrick Briggs, the singer for Psychotica, passed away at the end of December. So we’ll start tonight’s show paying tribute to Patrick Briggs by playing a few of his songs.
