End Of The Century presents:
LJ hosts End of the Century! He has now reached to ππ΅π΅π³ in his sloth-with-low-blood-sugar paced survey of the years covered by this show.
What was going on in ’97?
In mainstream pop, it looks like Backstreet Boys and The Spice Girls were ruling the roost.
Elton John performed “Candle in the Wind” at Princess Di’s funeral.
But this show will focus on albums, GOOD albums:
β’ Daft Punk caused a seismic shift in music with their debut album, “Homework.”
β’ Radiohead released “OK Computer.”
β’ We reached the apex of Aphex Twin’s reign of terror with both the Richard D. James Album and the Come To Daddy E.P.
β’ David Byrne released his best solo album, “Feelings.”
β’ Arto Lindsay contains multitudes, and “Noon Chill” makes sure that you know this.
β’ Erykah Badu. Erykah Badu. Erykah Badu. Baduizm.
β’ Smog just wanted to “Be Of Use” (though this song is important to me, I’m pretty sure I can’t play it… or can I??)
And really so so so much more!

End Of The Century presents:
LJ will be hosting End of the Century!
This show will focus on the year 1990! In his slow moving survey of the end of the century, LJ felt like his last show covering 1989 was a low point. And he was worried that 1990 would also feel like a fallow year. But, upon digging in to the year’s releases, there is plenty of music from 1990 to genuinely love.
For example:
β’ “Iris” by The Breeders
β’ “Around the Way Girl” by LL Cool J
β’ “Three Days” by Jane’s Addiction
β’ _Torture Garden_ by Naked City
β’ _Violator_ by Depeche Mode
β’ “Don’t Play Cards With Satan” by Daniel Johnston
β’ “Decay” by Ride
β’ “Pickup Song” by Codeine

Friday Clock Out presents:
L.J. has Coldon Martin joining him to DEBUT the NEW single from his BRAND NEW band, Rough Age!
Do you like Sonic Youth? Mission of Burma? Then, this might be something you dig. Or, as the band describe themselves: “Post-Punk With Pop Hooks…But Don’t Worry, Not Too Many.” LJ is totally going to give Coldon grief about this tagline.
Coldon is formerly ofΒ Lightfields. Coldon and LJ have been friends for quite a few years at this point and like argue and commiserate about music. Coldon is a true music geek and a pleasure as a friend, so this should be a pretty delightful show!
