End Of The Century presents:

Newpower Soul by The New Power Generation
𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟴 – 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟴 – 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟴 – 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟴 – 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟴 – 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟴 – 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟴 – 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟴 – 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟴
LJ hosts End of the Century!
He has now reached to 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟴 in his slower than pitch tar creep of a survey of the years covered by this show.
What was going on in ’98?
• Brandy and Monica duel it out on their hit single “The Boy is Mine.”
• Will Smith gets “Jiggy wit it.” Because in 1998 he was still a music artist, not an actor. He also seemed a bit, perhaps, happier then.
• Dave Navarro’s brief stint with The Red Hot Chili Peppers comes to an end.
• Cher believes in life after love… and autotune.
• George Michael engages in a “subconsciously deliberate act” in a Beverly Hills public restroom.
None of this will be played on this afternoon’s show! (LJ has to clear room for one of the best albums ever made…)

top 30 new albums for Aug 17 presents:

The weekly chart reflects the diversity of programming on WRIR. In an average week, WRIR DJs play approximately 1,200 albums (and EPs and singles).

To make it on the list, an album must be released in the past year. Local bands and albums played by more than one DJ are given priority in the rankings.

Below the chart is a list of new albums added to the music library once that information has been compiled. Check back later if it’s not there yet.

End Of The Century presents:

DAF - Alles ist Gut

When I hosted End of the Century four weeks ago, I focused on 1975 to 1981.   I’m picking up with 1981 and 1982 for this show.  I’m also slowing my roll a little; trying to choose a few songs from each year between 1975 and 1980 proved to be too ambitious.  So, I’m just looking at two years, and maybe dipping my toe into 1983.

Tonight, L.J. will be hosting Mercury Falls on WRIR 97.3 fm Richmond Independent Radio from 9 to 11 p.m.! He’ll be spinning some new stuff and a smattering of sufficiently iced cold tunes to suit the chill and detached tenor of Melissa’s show!
